Bitcoin Digital (bitcoindigital.info) is an independent cryptocurrency news, analysis and market-data publication. We believe that reading about the markets should not require you to surrender your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what limited data we handle when you visit the site, why we handle it, and the choices available to you. It is written to be read alongside our Cookie Policy and Terms of Use.
Who we are
For the purposes of data-protection law, the operator of Bitcoin Digital is the party responsible for this website. We are a publisher, not a financial service: we do not operate accounts, hold funds or provide personalised advice. If you have any question about this policy or about how your information is handled, you can reach us through our contact page.
The short version
There is no login or user-account system on Bitcoin Digital. We do not ask you to register, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. The only features that remember anything about you — your Watchlist and your light or dark theme preference — are stored inside your own browser and are never transmitted to us.
Information we handle
Your Watchlist and display settings
If you add assets to a Watchlist, or switch between light and dark mode, those choices are saved using your browser’s local storage (localStorage). This information stays on your device. It is not sent to our servers, is not readable by us, and is removed whenever you clear your browser’s site data.
Newsletter subscription
We offer a free email newsletter, The Digital Brief, on a double opt-in basis. If you choose to subscribe, we collect the email address you provide and use it only to confirm your subscription and to send you that newsletter. We do not sell or rent your address, and every issue includes an unsubscribe link so that you can withdraw at any time.
Technical and server information
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may automatically record standard technical details — such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested — in server logs. This information helps us keep the site secure, diagnose faults and understand aggregate traffic. It is not used to identify you personally.
Third-party market data
Bitcoin Digital displays live market data drawn from keyless public sources, including Binance public market data (prices, charts and tickers), Alternative.me (the Fear & Greed Index), DefiLlama (total-value-locked and stablecoin figures), public Ethereum RPC nodes (network gas fees) and public Bitcoin network data (block height for the halving countdown). Where these features load within your browser, your device may connect directly to those providers, who may observe technical connection data such as your IP address under their own privacy terms. We do not use CoinGecko, Glassnode or Etherscan.
Cookies
We keep our own use of cookies to a functional minimum. For a full explanation, please see our Cookie Policy. If we introduce analytics or advertising in the future, we will update these pages before doing so.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over any personal data relating to you — including the right to request access, correction or deletion, and to object to certain uses. Because the only personal data we routinely hold is a newsletter email address, most requests can be resolved simply by unsubscribing or by contacting us. To exercise any right, please use our contact page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the site or to legal requirements. Material changes will be posted on this page, so we encourage you to review it periodically.
