Stablecoins
Stablecoins are tokens designed to hold a steady value — usually pegged to the US dollar — and are the settlement layer for much of crypto trading and DeFi. This section tracks the major stablecoins with live data and sourced coverage: how each maintains its peg, what backs it (fiat reserves, crypto collateral or algorithms), transparency and audit questions, and regulation. We explain de-peg risk and issuer risk plainly, because "stable" is a design goal, not a guarantee. Stablecoins can and have broken their peg. Nothing here is financial advice — do your own research and understand what actually backs any token you hold.
